Writing Colorado, a year-long series, features twelve writers whose books reveal the essential character of this state we call home. Colorado’s landscapes and lifescapes inspired many writers in the last two and a half centuries. Some just passed through; some came and stayed; some did not become writers until they lived here awhile. Their words, living long after they disappear, yet speak of yesterday’s Colorado that we might more clearly understand the Colorado of today.

Featured Writers and Books:

Feb 3,4 - Bayard Taylor "Colorado: A Summer Trip"  1866

Set on the grounds of the Benson Sculpture Garden, each year the participating artists are selected by a jury comprised of experienced sculptors representing different styles and mediums. Traditionally, about one fourth of the selected artists are new to Sculpture in the Park. THE ROUTE and CLOSURES
Men's and women's routes are now available for download. Street closures will be posted in early August.

Departing from the Ranch Events Complex in Loveland, racers will reprise much of the first half of the 2013 course, including fast and furious intermediate sprints in Windsor and Downtown Loveland. In Downtown Loveland, the annual Corn Roast Festival will be a great spectacle as the race comes through. On the west side of town, the race turns into a loop of the challenging and scenic Carter Lake, which delivers the first significant climb of the day. After the Carter loop, the race heads north across Highway 34 to Masonville and then heads west up the Buckhorn Canyon. With 20 miles of  steep climbs and blazing descents before the summit, look for a ferocious KOM battle at the Top of Ford Hill near Stove Prairie as the race dives into the tight, twisty Rist Canyon. Racers will revisit familiar turf of the fearsome Horsetooth Reservoir Dams before finishing again in the heart of Old Town Fort Collins.

VIEWING AREAS
The stage retains its compact footprint from 2013: start and finish lines are less than 15 miles apart, and with several circuits and near circuits, including Windsor, Carter Lake, and Horsetooth Reservoir, watching the race in multiple locations is part of the fun. Enjoy the start at the Ranch, then make your way to the Dams. Or Join the action at the Windsor Wall and then make your way towards Bingham Hill. Or check out the Loveland Corn Roast Festival sprint then hop on the Flex and MAX Busses and make it to the finish in Fort Collins. Once again, the 2015 stage is uniquely spectator friendly.

EVENTS
The Old Fashioned Corn Roast Festival will take place on August 21st and 22nd in downtown Loveland. This will be a great location to enjoy live music, a parade, corn-related activities, vendors and more, and watch the race come through. The Soul School Band will take the stage at 10:45am. While in downtown, stop by the Loveland Museum/Gallery and see the Bike Band, a set of three bicycle-powered instruments, on display.

VOLUNTEERING
Be part of the fun and excitement by becoming a volunteer. The Volunteert Information Meeting is August 10th from 6-8pm at the McKee Building Exhibition Hall A - 5280 Arena Circle in Loveland. You can also sign up at www.usaprocyclingchallenge.com/experiences/volunteers.

PARKING
Designated parking areas will be established for the day of the event. Check back in early August for a complete list and map of where to park.

TRANSPORTATION
Transportation will be available on the day of the event. Check back in early August for a map showing where you can utilize public transportation to help you get through town with ease.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Information will continue to be updated until the day of the event. An automated phone line has been set up and new information will be recorded as it becomes available: 970-962-2015. A Facebook page for Stage 6 will also post updated information: https://www.facebook.com/GoNoCoPro?fref=ts
