Affection at a Distance

We enjoy watching them on a television nature show, but we revile them for living in the crawl space. They anger us when they spray the dog, but they amuse us when mom and her babies waddle about in search of food, so long as they’re on the far side of the ravine. With skunks, affection is all about distance.

No registration is required. Please come at least 20 minutes early as seating is limited (due to City Fire Code) and on a first-come first-serve basis.

This program is sponsored by the Friends of the Loveland Library.

Healthy living is a passion for Junior Girl Scout Troop 1748, so, to earn their Bronze Award, they’ve organized an event to teach kids ages 6 to 14 the importance of having a healthy body and mind. Topics include physical fitness, nutrition, identifying stressors, how to deal with stress, and how to carry what they learn into their daily routine.

The difference in being active verses non-active can greatly affect a child’s future health. In addition to the possibility of being obese, there are many other potential problems they may face.

Also, healthy, physically active students are more likely to be academically motivated, alert, and successful. Physical competence also builds self-esteem at every age.

We only get one body, so we need to take care of it! Come out and get your healthy on!
